Pokemon’s Ash Ketchum Wins the Championship for the First Time in 25 Years
Ash Ketchum, the main character of the Pokemon anime series, has been training Pokemon for 25 years, and he has finally gained the title of world’s finest Pokemon trainer. The official Pokemon Twitter account broke the news on the platform. These authors penned, “He’s done it! Ash has become a World Champion!” along with a video wishing the new celebrity well. Over 4.3 million people have viewed the tweet, and over 3.6 lakh people have shared it.
The latest episode of “Pokemon Ultimate Journeys: The Series” aired in Japan on Friday, and it saw Ash and his Pokemon partner Pikachu finally realising their lifelong dream by winning the eighth tournament of the Pokemon World Coronation Series. This final showdown spanned four episodes and included Ash taking on Leon, the current world champion. And it included the return of fan favourites like Brock, Misty, and Dawn from past seasons.
The American Ash’s voice actress Sarah Natochenny tweeted, “I can’t wait to share the English dub of this episode of Pokemon with the world. What an absolute honor to be voicing Ash Ketchum as he becomes a world champion. He really is the very best Like no one ever was.”
