Players in the TiMi Studios MOBA may come across a variety of icons on their screens. Here’s what the light bulb and eye icons in Pokemon Unite actually imply.
You’re not alone if you’ve ever been in a Standard or Ranked match in Pokemon Unite and been perplexed by symbols lingering over a character.
Many Trainers in the TiMi Studios MOBA have been stumped by the light bulb and eye icons in particular. This guide will explain what each sign symbolises and what causes them to appear.

Pokemon Unite light bulb symbol meaning
If you see a blue light bulb over a character’s head, it implies they have the Exp. Share Held Item equipped to their Pokemon and are receiving a steady stream of experience points.
If a member of your lane has the add-on, they will no longer receive shared XP when you kill a neutral adversary on the map. This means they shouldn’t be hitting NPCs in your lane with the final strike.
The Held Item is for Support characters like Eldegoss who are designed to stay in the background and help Attacker, All-Rounder, or Defender characters level up faster by beating neutral enemies in your lane.

Pokemon Unite eye symbol meaning
Have you ever been wondering about the map when an annoying eye icon appears above your head? Your ‘mon speed plummets as soon as the cursed symbol appears, which is quite aggravating.
When you pass behind the opposition team’s goal line, the emblem displays. The technique is used by TiMi Studios to prevent overpowered gamers from unleashing havoc on others (who might be a lower level than you).
When you notice the red icon, it’s a signal to turn around and return. Unless you’re over-levelled, you’ll very certainly be jumped and unable to flee due to your slowed speed.
Despite Trainers often seeing the icons in matches, many have been left scratching their head as to what they mean. In all fairness, the MOBA doesn’t exactly go out of its way to explain what the symbols represent.
In particular, the eye symbol is important as it lets you know when you have gone too far on the map. Perhaps TiMi Studios could update the tutorial mode in the future to include a breakdown of Held Items and the icons.
