The Pokémon Go Spotlight Hour schedule for August 2021 has been announced by Niantic. There’s a lot to look forward to with Shellos, Skwovet, and Wooloo all making cameos.
The Spotlight Hour is a weekly event hosted by Niantic in Pokemon Go. Each week, a different Pokemon will be featured, with significantly increased spawn rates and a unique double bonus.
Trainers will have one hour to catch as many of that species as they can, providing the ideal opportunity to complete their Pokedex and earn enough Candy to develop and power up that Pokemon.
Here’s what you need to know about the Spotlight Hour schedule for August.
What is the next Pokemon Spotlight Hour?
Wooloo will be the next Spotlight Hour, according to Niantic, and it will go live on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
For a limited time, between 6 PM and 7 PM local time, the Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild. This means you’ll be able to participate and watch it no matter where you are in the world.
In addition, as part of the event perks, players will be able to obtain Double Evolution EXP.

How to prepare for Wooloo Spotlight Hour in Pokemon Go
Because the Spotlight Hours are only 60 minutes long, there are a few things you can do ahead of time to ensure you don’t waste any time:
- Make sure you have enough Poke Balls to catch all of the Pokemon in the Spotlight Hour.
- Check to see whether you have enough Berries to receive double Candy or to make catching simpler.
- Make a place in your Pokemon Storage Box for all of the ‘mon you’ll catch.
- For the event, save up your Pokecoins and buy at least two Incense sticks.
Along with these techniques, Spotlight Hours are a great time to use any extra goods you have, such as Lucky Eggs or Star Pieces, to boost your XP during the event.
Spotlight Hour Spawn Rate & Shiny Rate
During these events, the spawn rate of each Spotlight Hour Pokemon is increased for 60 minutes, ensuring that you’ll have lots of chances to catch each species.
As a result, the spawn rate of each Shiny variety (if it’s available) is increased as well. Many trainers use Spotlight Hours to complete their Shiny collection, and here is your chance to do the same!
This will come in handy now that Niantic has added additional Pokedex classifications to display your Shiny, Lucky, Event, and other Pokemon varieties.
That’s all we know about the August 2021 Pokemon Go Spotlight Hours. Every week, a new Pokemon and event bonus will be featured.
