Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl: Fantina, Hearthome City gym Guide
A ghost-type expert, Fantina is the fifth gym leader in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. To help you, we’ve put together a Hearthome gym leader guide that lists her parties and recommends adjacent counters.
HEARTHOME CITY GYM CHALLENGE
Fantina is only accessible by correctly answering a series of simple math questions and entering the correct door. You’ll have to face a trainer if you choose the wrong door. However, if you’re looking for a way to get more practise in, deliberately answering incorrectly may be a useful strategy.
FANTINA’S POKÉMON
Confuse Ray is a favourite of Fantina’s ghost-type Pokémon. The following is what she has:
Drifblim, level 32, ghost/flying
Gengar, level 34, ghost/poison
Mismagius, level 36, ghost
In order to avoid being attacked by any ground-based attacks, Gengar has the ability to levitate.
FANTINA COUNTERS
To add insult to injury, Fantina’s specialised type is frustrating because ghost-types are exclusively vulnerable to attacks of the same kind as their own. When fighting her, you should avoid using any other ghost-types, but if your ghost-type is faster than hers, you can use it against her.
The Bite dark-type move may be learned by numerous Pokémon as they advance in level. It is possible to use electric-type moves against Drifblim because of its dual flying-type.
Counters can be found in the following places:
Gastly, ghost
Underground
Pikachu, electric
Underground
These Pokémon can be found along these routes, however they should at the very least be evolved to
FANTINA GYM REWARDS
The HM Surf may be used in non-battle situations, allowing you to cross waterways. Also, she’ll give you many copies of TM65, so you may teach your Pokémon Shadow Claw, a powerful ghost-type move with a high probability of critically striking. Stickers for your Poké Balls are also included.
