Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: Where to Catch Turtwig
In both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, players must choose between Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, the three starter Pokémon. That isn’t to say you can only catch one of the three in a single playthrough. So, here’s where you can find Turtwig in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.
Where to Catch Turtwig in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Turtwig can be found on the Grand Underground after defeating the Elite Four and obtaining the National Pokédex, which can be obtained by completing your Sinnoh Pokédex by visiting Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town. Turtwig can be found in Grassland Cave, Riverbank Cave, Still-Water Cavern, or Sunlit Cavern, among other caves. If you can’t find the Pokémon in the places, simply exit and re-enter, since this will reset the Pokémon. To summarise, Turtwig can be found in both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl as follows:
- Defeat the Elite Four.
- Complete the Sinnoh Pokédex.
- Get the National Pokédex.
- Go to the Grand Underground.
- Go to either Grassland Cave, Riverbank Cave, Still-Water Cavern, or Sunlit Cavern.
- Enter and exit until you spot a Turtwig.
- Battle and capture Turtwig.
You can evolve Turtwig into Grotle by leveling the Pokémon to level 18 after capturing it. After that, when you reach level 32, you can evolve Grotle into Torterra. While you’re on the Grand Underground, don’t forget to look for Bulbasaur, Chikorita, and Treecko, the grass-type starters from Generations 1 to 3, as they’re all in the same regions and under the same conditions.
