Paulo Costa calls out Jake Paul over embarrassing UFC fight
Paulo Costa’s victory over Luke Rockhold at UFC 278 drew criticism from influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul, raising talk of a future battle between the two. Jake Paul is due to return to the ring in October, but that hasn’t stopped him from calling out UFC stars in the lead-up to his next fight, with Paulo Costa appearing to be the next on his list. Costa and Luke Rockhold delivered the bout of the night at UFC 278 in a gory, nasty brawl that concluded with Rockhold rubbing his blood all over his opponent’s face. It was wild and, in Jake Paul’s opinion, deserving of criticism.
After realizing that Paul branded the battle “embarrassing” and a “glorified street fight,” Costa didn’t hold back and challenged “The Problem Child” to a fistfight. Costa threw down the gauntlet and urged Jake Paul to start working on some documents to toss down.
“If this is the last one, Jake Paul is very welcome to send an offer or a contract and we can do this boxing fight,” he said. I don’t know if he wants this blood, you know? I think he wants to fight wrestlers or something like that, I think.
Costa may have confused Jake with his brother, Logan Paul, who recently joined WWE after a fantastic match at SummerSlam in August. Whatever the case may be, the challenge exists. We’ll have to wait and see if Jake Paul and Costa agree to enter the ring together, which could take some time given that the YouTuber has already hinted that his next opponent will be a professional boxer. Until then, only time will tell whether Paul gets to 6-0 in October and whether Costa’s UFC contract expires, perhaps paving the way for a showdown between the two.
