Overwatch 2: How To Get Legacy Credits
Overwatch 2’s transferred money is called “Legacy Credits,” and it may be used to buy a variety of cosmetic goods. Overwatch Coins can be used to buy a variety of cosmetic goods, such as skins, emoticons, emotes, and victory poses, for some of the new characters. Overwatch Legacy Credits are unique to Overwatch 2 and cannot be exchanged for new Overwatch Coins. Credits earned in Overwatch can be spent on a variety of cosmetic items in the Overwatch 2 store. In case you’re curious, Legacy Credits can be used to buy skins, emotes, and other in-game cosmetics that were included in the original game. Since Legacy Credits can only be used to acquire certain skins in Overwatch 2, and since there is no means to acquire more Legacy Credits in the sequel, it is recommended that you do so.
In the original game, legacy credits were awarded to players when they unlocked loot boxes or when they acquired duplicate cosmetic items as loot drops. It was common practice for Overwatch players to invest large sums of Overwatch Credits into loot boxes in the hopes of obtaining legendary skin. Overwatch Credits were the original in-game money.
While most of the new cosmetics in Overwatch 2 were unlocked via an upgrade mode, Legacy Credits may be used to buy any cosmetic from the original Overwatch or even some cosmetics from Overwatch 2. The freemium business model, made popular by games like Overwatch 2’s “Battle Passes” and “Costumes,” was introduced in Overwatch 2. Battle passes aren’t the only way to earn rewards in Overwatch 2, though; certain games also have their own currencies that can be used to purchase the same kinds of things.
To acquire legacy credits, all you have to do is upgrade your Overwatch to Overwatch 2’s most recent version and log in to both games using the same Battle.net account. In addition, if you have any unused Overwatch credits from the first game, you will not be able to bring them over to Overwatch 2 unless you use the same Battle.net account for both games.
Please be aware that legacy goods cannot be purchased with regular Overwatch Coins by new players in Overwatch 2. Given that Overwatch 2 uses Overwatch Coins as its primary currency, it is still unclear whether Blizzard will offer a means for users to obtain additional legacy credits. Legacy Credits can’t be used to buy premium Battle Passes, Battle Pass levels, items from the microtransaction store, or the new, better skins for Overwatch 2’s new heroes that will be released over time.
