“Original ‘Daredevil’ – Showrunners React on Disney+ Revival series”
The original showrunners of the blockbuster Netflix series based on the characters rushed to social media to express their thoughts on the news that a Daredevil series is currently in development at Disney+.
Erik Olsen, who was the showrunner for Daredevil’s third and last season on Netflix, moved to Twitter to express his delight, stating he was “thrilled” to hear the news before complimenting the cast and fandom as “some of the finest ever.”
Steven DeKnight, who was the showrunner of the first season of the Netflix series, dismissed any notions that he was unhappy or angry over the show’s comeback in other tweets. “As a lifelong fan of the character, I’m hoping it’s even BETTER than the Netflix version.” In a tweet to a fan, DeKnight stated, “Lord knows they’ll have a much, much greater budget.”
In response to a fan who expressed concern over the series’ trajectory, DeKnight stated that he is looking forward to the next chapter of the character and wishes everyone involved the best. He also denied any involvement with the project, telling a fan that he’ll be “unavailable for the next few years owing to personal reasons because of other obligations.””
