On November 5th, Animal Crossing will receive a major update as well as paid DLC
In a special Direct, Nintendo released new content for New Horizons.
Nintendo has just finished a massive Direct presentation focusing on new content for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, including the game’s big 2.0 update and a significant paid DLC expansion. Both will be released on November 5th.
Let’s start with the free update, which brings back many famous friends for Animal Crossing lovers. You’ll be able to visit Brewster at The Roost, Kapp’n will be able to whisk you away to mysterious islands (while serenading you along the way), Katrina the fortune-teller will emerge on Harv’s Island, and the strange, noise-making Gyroids have returned.

There are also some fantastic new features for those who have previously invested hours (or hundreds of hours) in New Horizons. There are additional house exterior options, storage expansions, haircuts, KK Slider music, Nook Miles purchases, and even a pro camera software for the NookPhone that allows you to snap images from a different angle. One of the most major changes is the ability to make food using items grown by you, allowing you to set the table for a nice (virtual) dinner with your friends.
However, Nintendo is also releasing a paid addition, Happy Home Paradise, for players who wish to accomplish even more in New Horizons. In the DLC, you’ll journey to an archipelago of islands and assist visitors in creating their own paradise home on a resort. For example, if a bear wants a house with plush bears, you’ll be able to place the furniture they want in the house as well as decorate it as you want in order to create the ultimate home that suits what they’re looking for. You’ll also have the option of decorating the resort itself. And as part of the DLC, you’ll eventually get new house decorating techniques, such as partitions, that you can employ to decorate your primary island home.

The Happy Home Paradise DLC will cost $24.99 and will be available for preorder on October 29th. It will also be included as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription, which will be available on October 25th for $49.99 for a single person for a year or $79.99 for a family membership for a year.

The Animal Crossing Series 5 amiibo cards will also be available on November 5th, according to Nintendo. Each pack will cost $5.99 and contain six cards.
