Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis together rejected sensational claims made by their former nanny
In reaction to charges made by their former nanny concerning the couple’s tumultuous breakup, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have issued a joint statement.
An anonymous former employee of the actors’ who spoke to the Daily Mail on Oct. 17 was quoted in the publication. According to the story, the seven-year engagement between Wilde, 38, and Sudeikis, 47, ended after she began filming her movie “Don’t Worry Darling” and the two had many heated confrontations.
Wilde started dating “Don’t Worry Darling” co-star Harry Styles in November 2020, when they were both working on the film that just hit theaters this month.
In a joint statement, Wilde and Sudeikis stated, “As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly. Her now 18 month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex.”
Finally, they said, “We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”
Wilde and Sudeikis’s divorce from each other and subsequent co-parenting of their children, Otis, 8, and Daisy, 6, has been widely covered since their separation nearly two years ago.
Wilde was served with child custody papers in April while she was appearing at CinemaCon. The actor and director had just received the paperwork before presenting a clip for “Don’t Worry Darling” on stage. At the time, Variety stated that the manila envelope was marked “personal and confidential.”
Close friends of Sudeikis verified via email to NBC News that “papers were drawn up to establish jurisdiction relating to the children of Ms. Wilde and Mr. Sudeikis.”
Ted Lasso actor said “had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered as this would solely be up to the process service company involved and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner.”
In an interview from August with Variety, the director of “Booksmart” talked about the incident.
She explained the setting by saying, “It was my workplace. In any other workplace, it would be seen as an attack. It was really upsetting. It shouldn’t have been able to happen.”

The director went on to say, “There was a huge breach in security, which is really scary. The hurdles that you had to jump through to get into that room with several badges, plus special COVID tests that had to be taken days in advance, which gave you wristbands that were necessary to gain access to the event — this was something that required forethought.”
After the Las Vegas show, the abrupt stoppage was all anybody could talk about on the news and in online forums.
“I hated that this nastiness distracted from the work of so many different people and the studio that I was up there representing,” she explained. “To try to sabotage that was really vicious. But I had a job to do; I’m not easily distracted. But, you know, sadly, it was not something that was entirely surprising to me. I mean, there’s a reason I left that relationship.”
Wilde avoided directly addressing her ex-boyfriend by name for the course of the conversation.
Because her kids “will have to see that,” she continued, “and they should not ever have to know that happened.”
“For me, it was appalling, but the victims were an 8- and 5-year-old, and that is really sad,” the “Tron” star said. “I chose to become an actress; I willingly walked into the spotlight. But it’s not something my children have asked for. And when my kids are dragged into it, it’s deeply painful.”
Last month, in response to reports that she had dumped Sudeikis for Styles, she opened up about their relationship.
It is “complete horses—-” that she told Vanity Fair that she dumped Jason for Harry. Before I met Harry, I knew our relationship was ended.
She went on to clarify that the breakup of her prior relationship was not sudden.
Towards the beginning of the pandemic, Sarah and Jason “officially dissolved the relationship,” she said.
She explained that she had “evolved” from her twenties into her thirties later in the interview.
She went on to say that “sometimes when you evolve, you evolve out of relationships that were based on an earlier version of yourself.”
