Novak Djokovic’s Australian visa has been cancelled for the second time
On Friday, Novak Djokovic’s Australian visa was revoked for the second time in less than a week. He will be deported and miss the opening grand slam of the year, the Australian Open, as a result of a government decision.
Minister Alex Hawke used his discretionary powers to overrule a previous court order, which he had made. He said that Djokovic’s refusal to vaccinate against COVID-19 might put the public at risk.
Mr. Novak Djokovic’s visa was cancelled today under section 133C(3) of the Migration Act, according to Hawke, who stated in a statement that it was in the public interest to do so.
