New Teaser of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Revealed
The latest trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, from Marvel Studios, suggests that Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder will have to assemble an army of formidable proportions in order to fight the film’s antagonist. In addition, the fresh and intriguing video from the Taika Waititi-directed superhero sequel shows him using the full extent of Thor’s might.
Thor, portrayed by Natalie Portman, is on a mission to assemble an army of gods, and she needs their help. All of this is to stop Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher from wiping out gods all over the galaxy. Don’t let his sickly appearance deceive you, the latest MCU villain may out to be one of the strongest ever. As they face someone who is more than capable of killing a god, it seems like a no-brainer Thor is going out of his way to warn and recruit other gods, such Russell Crowe’s Zeus.
The action-packed trailer also includes Thor battling head-to-head with Gorr, unleashing the full power of the God of Thunder. The most spectacular moment of the trailers thus far, it is wonderful to see Thor still be able to test his limitations as the decades-spanning hero. The Mighty Thor and Tessa Thompson’s King Valkyrie will join the fight against the evil mastermind, so he will not be alone.
As more and more trailers for the film are published, critics from all around the world have shared their thoughts on it. The official length for the film has also surfaced online, which nearly exceeds the two-hour barrier at 1 hour and 59 minutes, making it the shortest MCU film in five years. And while the length may bother some, critics hail the picture as the best Phase 4 has had to give thus far.
The fourth film in the Thor saga will find Portman’s Jane Foster holding Mjolnir as The Mighty Thor, while Thompson returns as the new king of Asgard. Hemsworth’s Thor will be compelled to confront Gorr the God Butcher, a violent new villain that is targeting the MCU’s entire pantheon of mythological gods. Love and Thunder also sees the Guardians of the Galaxy return to the big screen after Thor left with them at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Back in the director’s chair after reinvigorating the franchise with Ragnarok, Waititi has his hands full with the God of Thunder’s latest adventure.
Thor: Love and Thunder will visit theatres on July 8, 2022. Check out the teaser below:
