New Marvel Avengers Campus in Disneyland Paris
Hollywood icons, including Brie Larson, gathered with Disney executives this past weekend to celebrate the opening of the Marvel Avengers Campus at Disneyland Paris.
The cast of Guardians of the Galaxy, including Pom Klementieff and Iman Vellani, joined Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. Chief Operating Officer Bob Chapek and Disneyland Paris President Natacha Rafalski also made appearances.
More than 1,200 people attended the opening ceremony, and on July 20 the public can finally visit Marvel Avengers Campus.
As Rafalski put it, “This is such an amazing year for Disneyland Paris. Back in March, we kicked off our 30th anniversary celebration, inviting guests to enter into a new era with us.
“As part of this tremendous milestone for our resort, Marvel Avengers Campus marks a significant step forward in the ongoing expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park and our overall transformation, with original storytelling and a uniquely engaging experience.”
The attraction’s design is inspired by the movies, TV shows, and comic books featuring the Avengers.
The Hero Training Center is a brand new attraction where fans can go to meet their favourite heroes including Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel. These gatherings can be recorded in a dynamic “freeze frame” video sequence by Disney PhotoPass’s 27 cameras.
The mighty hammer of Thor is on display, and guests can learn to fight alongside Black Panther and his Dora Milaje guards.
In addition to the rollercoaster, Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, there is also the Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure, where riders can use wrist-mounted web-slinging technology to swing through the air like the Marvel superhero.
Some places to eat include the Stark Factory and the Pym Kitchen, and you can pick up some mementos in the Mission Equipment store.
