Set in the world of Riot Games’ long-running multiplayer online battle arena video game, League of Legends, the show serves as a prequel to League of Legends, following the rich city of Piltover and its struggling underbelly Zaun as they walk a tightrope of distaste and independence from one another. However, tensions between the two flare up when a Piltover scientist successfully harnesses magical energy with hextech, while the malevolent Silco creates shimmer, a drug that transforms humans into lethal monsters.

The final Arcane League of Legends trailer provides an intriguing look at the expansion of Jinx and Vi’s origin stories. Both characters’ backstories in League of Legends have remained largely unknown up to this point in the franchise, aside from the fact that both were raised in Zaun and Jinx has a mysterious obsession with Vi. While Linke and Yee previously confirmed that the two would be introduced as sisters in the animated series, the final trailer provides a better look at the dynamic that can be expected from the two as Vi travels through the universe in search of Jinx.
The final Arcane League of Legends trailer doesn’t provide any concrete answers as to how or why the two were separated, but it does hint at an occasionally heated relationship between Vi and Jinx, who is revealed to have previously been named Powder. The trailer also includes several exciting teases of the game’s adaptation to the screen, including Jinx’s use of her iconic mini-gun nicknamed Mr. Pew Pew. The wait for Arcane League of Legends is almost over, as the series will debut on Netflix on November 6.
