NBA: Toronto Raptors vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction & Match Preview

On Thursday, the Philadelphia 76ers take on the Toronto Raptors at Wells Fargo Center. Both clubs are on a losing streak and will want to break it by taking advantage of the other. The 76ers are suffering from a slew of injuries, while the Raptors are having trouble finding their stride.

Despite the fact that this is a routine regular-season clash, there has been a lot of animosity amongst the fans. Since the Toronto Raptors eliminated the Philadelphia 76ers three years ago, it has been in effect. Many Philadelphia supporters are still haunted by Kawhi Leonard’s buzzer-beater, so expect a lively crowd.

    Match Details

Fixture – Toronto Raptors vs Philadelphia 76ers | NBA Season 2021-22.

    Date & Time – Thursday, November 11th, 2021; 7:00 PM ET (Friday, November 12th; 5:30 AM IST).

Venue – Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA.

    Toronto Raptors Preview

The Toronto Raptors went on a 5-game winning streak after a sluggish start to the season, but are currently back on a losing streak. They’ve dropped three straight games, including a one-point defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Their losses have one positive takeaway: they aren’t getting blown out and are fighting to the finish. The Raptors are 9th in the NBA with a 2.9 average positive point differential.

Pascal Siakam has returned to the lineup, but it will take a few games for him to get back into the swing of things. Coach Nick Nurse has announced that Siakam will most likely not play the second half of the game against the Philadelphia 76ers, according to TSN Sports’ Josh Lewenberg. Because of the back-to-back schedule, this is the case. Siakam was mentioned by Fred VanVleet, who said,

“I was simply reassuring him and encouraging him to keep going till he figured it out. He’s coming to terms with himself, with his legs… He’ll be all right. Obviously, it will take some time. We all wish it could have happened today or yesterday, but that’s not how things work.”

Young players such as OG Anunoby, Gary Trent Jr., and Precious Achiuwa have also made an impact.

    Philadelphia 76ers Preview

The Philadelphia 76ers have been hit by the injury bug, and their standings are about to fall. They were first in the Eastern Conference until recently, but most of their starters have been injured. Along with Tobias Harris and Isaiah Joe, Joel Embiid has entered the NBA’s health and safety regulations. Both Seth Curry and Matisse Thybulle are uncertain, and Ben Simmons is still out.

The 76ers of Philadelphia have been shooting the ball well from the field. They are top in the league in field goal percentage, second in three-point percentage and true shooting percentage, and third in free throw percentage. In the absence of the starters, Shake Milton, Furkan Korkmaz, and Tyrese Maxey have all stepped up. Maxey is coming off a 31-point performance against the Milwaukee Bucks, the reigning NBA champs. Andre Drummond has also shown to be a significant boost over Dwight Howard. He’s coming off back-to-back nights with 20+ rebounds.

    Raptors vs 76ers Match Prediction

The Toronto Raptors appear to be the favorites to win this game against the Philadelphia 76ers, owing to the latter’s numerous ailments. The 76ers are without all of their starters, including Seth Curry, who is currently questionable.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors are in Pennsylvania with a healthy lineup and are starting to find their offensive stride. Furthermore, the Raptors are fourth in the league in points allowed under coach Nick Nurse, and the 76ers’ bench unit will most likely be unable to stay up.
