Musk disputes reports that he had an affair with Sergey Brin’s wife
According to the Wall Street Journal, Elon Musk’s affair with Sergey Brin’s wife, Nicole Shanahan, caused him to sever ties with Google co-founder Sergey Brin. The WSJ said that the couple filed for divorce earlier this year, citing “irreconcilable differences.” However, Musk has since denied both the claimed affair and said he is still friends with Brin, saying the news is based purely on “third-party random hearsay.”
Following Musk’s breakup with then-girlfriend Claire Boucher, popularly known as Grimes, it is believed that Musk and Shanahan had an affair at the Art Basel event in Miami. According to the WSJ, Brin and Shanahan had split up but were still living with a partner at the time. Relationship problems were blamed on the COVID-19 lockdowns and their 3-year-old daughter, according to some reports.
Musk responded to the report by calling it “total bs” on Twitter after it was published. “Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night! I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.” In another reply, the billionaire exec said, “Haven’t even had sex in ages (sigh).”
Even as the world’s richest man tries to get out of his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter, Elon Musk’s personal life is never far from his company. According to an Insider article from earlier this month, Musk had twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zillis, a former Tesla employee. Musk and Boucher’s second child, who is Musk’s ninth child, was born weeks after the twins were born via surrogate.
A former SpaceX flight attendant claimed in May that the corporation had paid her $250,000 to stay quiet about an incident involving Musk. SpaceX denied the claim. According to the alleged victim, he asked her for a massage, exposed himself to her, and asked her for intercourse with her permission.
Human resources manager Heather Cairns described Brin’s behaviour as “a sexual harassment claim waiting to happen” because of his sexual connection with Google employees. Brin was once dubbed “the Google playboy.” While he was still married to Me co-founder Anne Wojcicki and she was dating another Google executive, Brin had an affair with Google Glass marketing manager Amanda Rosenberg, according to a 2014 Vanity Fair story. Shanahan married Brin secretly in 2018 after Brin and Wojcicki split in 2015. According to the Wall Street Journal, Shanahan is requesting a divorce settlement of over $1 billion from Brin’s approximately $100 billion wealth.
The story stated that Brin and Musk were good pals. During the 2008 crisis, Brin donated Musk’s Tesla $500,000 in investment, and Musk repaid the favour by making Brin one of the Model X’s first buyers in 2015. When it comes to a party earlier this year, sources claim the Wall Street Journal that Musk went so far as to kneel on one knee and beg for forgiveness from Brin. According to the article, Brin has instructed his advisors to sell his personal shares in Musk’s enterprises because he and Musk are still not interacting on a regular basis.
