Footage on social media depicts a harrowing scene in which paramedics perform CPR on people who are lying on the floor in the middle of a crowd during a performance.
So far, police have not explained what happened or how many people were being assisted by medics at the Houston, Texas event.
The tragic events occurred on the first night of the third annual Astroworld music festival, which was taking place at NRG Park in the American city.
“@HoustonFire is currently on scene near NRG after receiving reports of multiple civilian injuries.” the Houston Fire Department tweeted.
Aerial footage captured by ABC 13 showed heavy fire and police activity in the vicinity of the event as it came to a close after 10 p.m.
