‘Moon Knight’: New Video Shows Oscar Isaac Struggling in Dark
In 2022, ‘Moon Knight’ will make its Disney+ debut.
The first official look at Oscar Isaac as the Moon Knight in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight has been released on Disney+ Day.. It was first announced in 2019 when Jeremy Slater was brought on as the head writer for the six-part miniseries. Production on Moon Knight began in March after months of negotiations, with Ethan Hawke being cast as an antagonist leading some to speculate that he might be an interpretation of the villainous mercenary Bushman.
A 1975 issue of Werewolf By Night, starring Gael Garca Bernal, is rumoured to be adapting Moon Knight next year. In 1980, the character was given his first ongoing solo series, pitting him against Bushman, which lasted for three seasons. Marc Spector’s backstory appears to be largely unchanged from that of his comic book incarnation, despite the addition of a few new details. Spector is a dissociative identity disorder (DID) sufferer who becomes a channel for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Isaac’s training video shows that Spector is going to get into a lot of fights in the series, based on what we know so far.
Despite Spector’s claim in the teaser that he has trouble telling the difference between his waking life and his dreams, we hear a deeper voice say “It devours you” before the teaser ends.
Casting Gaspard Ulliel and May Calamawy in unspecified roles completes Isaac and Hawke. Four of the six episodes will be directed by Mohamed Diab, with Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directing the other two. Additional executive producers include Brad Winderbaum, Diab and Isaac.
In 2022, Moon Knight will premiere on Disney+. Images of Isaac, as well as footage from the upcoming series on Disney+, can be seen.
