A Minecraft player has accomplished the previously thought-impossible feat of beating the game blindfolded in just over half an hour.
The video was released earlier this week (October 13) by YouTuber FrozenMelody, with the run labelled as an Any Percent Set Seed. This indicates that the test was performed on a specific Minecraft world rather than a randomly generated seed, but it is no less spectacular. The run lasts 33:35 minutes and can be viewed here.
The run was completed with no external audio, which FrozenMelody interprets to suggest that the only audio they had came from the game itself. They also stated in the video description that they “built this route to be “as secure as possible” and “replicable by anyone” who can memorise it. As long as you stick to the path, the only enemies are RNG (villagers, trading rerolls, fish, foes, dragon) and your own input errors.”
This isn’t to say the run is simple; FrozenMelody supposedly has over 100 footage of botched efforts, all of which involve faults such as misclicks, inaccurate movements, people shoving them, and even picking up an undesirable item.
FrozenMelody also ensures that “there will be other runs following this, and their time will beat this easily. Sub 30, and even sub 20. Heck, you know someone will be that “one who went with the bed strats and FINALLY pulled it off once and got a sub 5″.
A few mods were also used for the run: accessibility plus aided in inventory navigation, numpad camera control allowed for camera angle changes, and fabric API was required for those to operate in the first place.
