Alaqua Cox reprises her role as Maya Lopez after making her debut in last year’s Hawkeye, where it was revealed Maya had a lengthy connection with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. The genesis tale of Echo, which will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in 2023, “revisits Maya Lopez, whose vicious behaviour in New York City catches up with her in her hometown,” according to the synopsis. “If she ever intends to go ahead, she must confront her history, reconnect with her Native American heritage, and accept the significance of family and community.”
