Margot Robbie becomes the highest paid actress in 2022 with a whopping $12.5M paycheck
Australian actress Margot Robbie is enjoying a level of female artistry never before seen. Due to the massive compensation, she would receive for the highly anticipated comedy film “Barbie,” the two-time Oscar nominee is currently recognized as the “highest paid actress.” Variety reports that the 32-year-old Australian actress will receive $12.5 million for playing the title role in Greta Gerwig’s Oscar-nominated film based on the well-known Mattel doll.
Ryan Gosling, who co-stars as Ken in the hot-pink-filled film, will also receive $12.5 million. Tom Cruise ($100 million for “Top Gun: Maverick”), Leonardo DiCaprio ($30 million for “Killers of the Flower Moon”), and Denzel Washington ($20 million for “The Equalizer 3”) are all well-known actors who still make more than Robbie’s good salary.
In contrast to Robbie’s female teammates, Millie Bobby Brown made $10 million for the next Netflix movie “Enola Holmes 2.” Other colleagues on the list included Anya-Taylor Joy ($1.8 million for “Furiosa”) and Jamie Lee Curtis ($3.5 million for “Halloween Ends”). Robbie’s standalone Harley Quinn film “Birds of Prey” from 2020 has already made $10 million.
Margot Robbie turned 32 on July 2, and the cast and crew surprised her with a very pink, doll-themed birthday party when she was filming the Barbie movie in Los Angeles. She received a cheery Barbie-themed cake with the message “Happy Birthday Barbie Margot!” written in light pink icing as part of a celebration for her 32nd birthday on the set. Robbie’s roller skating outfit and a pink box of donuts were seen on Barbie as she arrived at the location.
