Made in Abyss Season 2 Episode 1: Recap
Reg, Nanachi, and Riko set out on their quest. They come encounter one of Bondrewd’s Umbra Hands when they reach the Garden of the Flowers of Resilience. They are informed by The Umbra Hand that Bondrewd is waiting for them. The group eventually arrives in Ido Front, where they encounter Prushka, Bondrewd’s daughter. When Bondrewd appears, he informs the group that they can only access the sixth stratum if they have a unique White Whistle. Riko and Prushka become close friends after inviting them to stay the night. While Reg is being examined by Bondrewd’s Umbra Hands, Nanachi discovers that Reg’s right arm has been amputated.
Reg is rescued by Riko, Nanachi, Prushka, and Meinya from the Umbra Hands. Nanachi, Reg, and Riko
thanks to Prushka, we succeed in escaping. They make the decision to lure Bondrewd and his Umbra Hands into a trap. Stingerheads assault Bondrewd and his Umbra Hands, but Bondrewd escapes unharmed. Reg and Nanachi devise a scheme, though, and Bondrewd’s body is ultimately destroyed as a result. A short while later, Prushka and an Umbra Hand appear; the latter changes into Bondrewd.
The group discovers that Bondrewd can transmit his consciousness through his Umbra Hands, which are exact replicas of him. Riko notes that Bondrewd might be utilising a relic that permits him to transfer his consciousness to the Umbra Hands after having a dream about Prushka. The group heads back to Ido Front with an idea for destroying the artefact. Riko is told by Nanachi that Bondrewd’s cartridges are created in Japan from people. Suddenly, an unhinged Reg attacks Bondrewd, and the two engage in combat. Reg is restored to normal by Nanachi, despite Bondrewd’s claim that he turned Prushka into a cartridge. Bondrewd eventually loses the battle. Riko laments the loss of Prushka, but it transpires that he turned into a Life Reverberating Stone. The crew gets ready to ascend to the sixth stratum as Riko acquires a new White Whistle.
