Los Angeles felt ripples of 4.6 Ridgecrest earthquake
The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck near Ridgecrest on Thursday evening, and it was felt as far away as Los Angeles.
The epicentre of the 6:19 p.m. earthquake was located about 8 miles northeast of the city in the Mojave Desert.
Big Bear City, Long Beach, and Bakersfield were just some of the places that contacted the USGS through the Did You Feel It website.
Since a 4.8 earthquake struck near Deep Springs in Inyo County on January 5, this was the largest earthquake to have its epicentre in California.
This quake on Thursday was centred only four miles from the epicentre of the July 5, 2019 7.1 magnitude Ridgecrest quake.
