Lil Keed’s cause of death revealed after months
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner/Office Coroner’s has released the official cause of death of Lil Keed eight months after his death.
Eosinophilia, defined as “a higher than normal level of eosinophils,” was listed as the official cause of death for the YSL rapper in a statement released on Tuesday.
The Mayo Clinic states, “Eosinophils are a type of disease-fighting white blood cell. This condition most often indicates a parasitic infection, an allergic reaction or cancer.”
After weeks of conjecture about the circumstances surrounding the rapper’s death, his mother finally breaks her silence with this report. Last month, Michelle Woods posted on Instagram that an autopsy revealed her son died of natural causes.
“7 months after learning about the passing of my son, I’ve received his official cause of death from the doctors. In grieving my son’s death, myself and the rest of the family were caused a lot of pain by the lies and rumors spread on the blogs and the internet with false information about Raqhid’s passing,” it read. “Today, we’ve confirmed that Raqhid died from natural causes with no drugs or alcohol found in his system.”
She went on, saying, “I’m still grieving and I’m still mourning from what our family has had to go through the last 7 months and I refuse to let the lies go any further. I’m glad that the truth is finally out and I ask that everyone please be respectful of his family and his legacy. Long Live Keed.”
Organ failure was initially reported as Lil Keed’s cause of death. According to TMZ’s sources close to the deceased YSL rapper, Keed sought medical treatment at a Los Angeles hospital for acute stomach ache days before his death.
Keed was claimed to be clean and sober in the months preceding up to his death, despite a long history of drug and alcohol abuse. Nonetheless, it was said that his liver and kidneys began shutting down, which is what ultimately led to his death at the tender age of 24.
The death of Lil Keed was originally revealed by his cousin and fellow rapper LilGotit. Amidst the uproar, 300 Entertainment, Lil Keed’s record label, issued a statement mourning the loss of their artist.
The statement reflected on Lil Keed’s life, saying, “Lil Keed was not only an incredible talent but a devoted father, brother, and son,” “We are deeply saddened by this unexpected loss as Keed’s courage, humor, and dedication to his family and craft will be unexplainably missed.
“Over the years, Keed has made an indescribable impact on the culture and his community. His essence will forever be woven throughout the fabric that is Young Stoner Life Records and 300 Entertainment. Our prayers are with his family, friends, and fans.”
