LAPD: Police shoot and kill 14-year-old girl in Burlington Coat Factory
In an attempt to capture a person who was accused of assaulting a lady earlier in the day, Los Angeles police officers shot and killed a teenage girl, authorities said.
Another suspect, a man, was also shot and killed by police. At a Burlington Coat Factory in North Hollywood, officers opened a shot on the suspect after spotting him assaulting another person, a Los Angeles police captain said. Officers responding to allegations of an attack with a dangerous weapon and shots being fired were the ones who were involved in the incident. A 14-year-old girl was struck by one of the gunshots that pierced a dressing room wall, according to an assistant police chief.
As reported by the Associated Press, the first victim of the suspect’s shooting was brought to the hospital with “moderate to serious injuries.” Nearly two hours after the shooting, police were still taking people out of the shop.
