Lainey Wilson is set to join the cast of Taylor Sheridan’s hit series Yellowstone
According to Deadline, Wilson will join the cast of Taylor Sheridan’s blockbuster series Yellowstone, which will begin its fifth season on Paramount Network on November 13th. Wilson will take on the role of Abby, a musician. Kai Caster, who starred in American Horror Story, will play a cowboy named Rowdy in the film. Sarah Atwood will be played by Dawn Olivieri, who previously appeared in the Yellowstone prequel 1883.
Wilson’s music has previously been featured on Yellowstone, so this new role is a step ahead for the multi-talented performer. Wilson just released “Heart Like a Truck,” her follow-up solo song to “Things a Man Oughta Know,” and the video showcases Wilson acting and performing. Wilson co-wrote “Heart Like a Truck” with Trannie Anderson and Dallas Wilson.
Wilson had her second No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay success earlier this year with the Cole Swindell collaboration “Never Say Never,” which spent two weeks at the top of the chart. At the recent Academy of Country Music Awards, “Things a Man Oughta Know” was chosen song of the year, while Wilson was named the new female artist of the year.
Wilson is on the Ain’t Always the Cowboy Tour with Jon Pardi and Hailey Whitters and will join Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen for a few concerts. Wilson’s concert at Nissan Stadium on Friday evening (June 10) is part of a series of performances during CMA Fest in downtown Nashville.
