Kyle Jacobs husband of Kellie Pickler died by apparent suicide at 49
Nashville police have confirmed the death of country music producer/songwriter Kyle Jacobs, who was featured alongside his wife, singer Kellie Pickler, in a CMT docuseries. He was 49.
Authorities in Nashville say Jacobs committed suicide on Friday at his home.
A 911 call was received in Nashville around 1:11 PM on Friday, as reported by the city’s Department of Emergency Communications. The Sneed Road residence of Pickler and Jacobs drew police and firefighters from the Nashville area.
According to the police report, Pickler she awoke a short time earlier, did not see her husband and began looking for him. As the statement continued, after she and a personal assistant were unable to open the door to the upstairs bedroom/office, the assistant called authorities
In his role as a music producer, Jacobs has collaborated with such performers as Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson, Darius Rucker, and Tim McGraw. As a result of his efforts as a producer on Lee Brice’s “I Drive Your Truck,” he was honoured with an Academy of Country Music Award in 2014.
Jacobs often updated his Instagram with news of his musical projects with other artists.
“One of my favourite things to do as a songwriter is writing songs with beautiful hearts in beautiful places,” he wrote in 2021.
Pickler’s career as a singer and TV host was fueled by her appearance on Season 5 of “American Idol.”
Docu-comedy series “I Love Kellie Pickler,” which Jacobs co-starred in and helped launch in 2015, was a ratings success for CMT. This show lasted for three full years.
On their official Twitter account, CMT remarked, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Kellie Pickler and the rest of the Jacobs family.”
Jacobs admitted in a 2015 interview that he was more comfortable working behind the scenes than in front of the camera, but that he had no problem working with his wife on their reality programme.
Jacobs stated, “I’m just going to be me and be with my wife and just be us,”
“We’ve just built such a foundation of trust and love…
Whatever work is, if it ever gets in the way of our marriage then it gets in the way. Our marriage comes first.”
