Kristen Stewart plays Princess Diana in the upcoming film “Spencer,” which will be released in theatres on November 5. According to E! News, the actor has received praise for her performance in the film, in which she managed to completely embody the late Princess of Wales. Stewart not only nailed Diana’s looks, but she also portrayed her mannerisms in such a way that critics were blown away. In fact, there’s already talk of the “Twilight” star receiving an Oscar nomination. According to Scott Feinberg of The Hollywood Reporter, the role “will almost certainly bring [Stewart] her first Oscar nomination of her career.”
Stewart discussed the role at the Toronto Film Festival in September. “There was no way to play this part perfectly, so it was actually easier, or at least less intimidating or intimidating. Because the only way to catch something wild is to be that, and I could only be my version of it and hope that I learned everything I could from her and then kind of meld and be both me and her in what was going to be the best version “According to The Hollywood Reporter, she stated.
As the film’s premiere date approaches, Stewart has been bombarded with questions about Diana, and because she did extensive research for the role, she was able to weigh in on Diana’s relationship with her two sons. Continue reading to learn what Stewart had to say.
Kristen Stewart felt a strong connection to Princess Diana and William and Harry.
Princess Diana died in 1997, when Prince William was 15 years old and Prince Harry was 12 years old. Diana adored being a mother, and it was without a doubt her most cherished role in life. “She loved her boys and wanted them to be happy,” a friend of Diana’s told People magazine in September.
Kristen Stewart never met Diana, but she got a really good sense about what the Princess of Wales stood for, how she felt, and what she went through. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Stewart weighed in on what she noticed about Diana’s relationship with William and Harry. “The whole thing about watching her, within that space when her children are close to her, it’s a nucleus. It’s a three-headed animal, sort of an unstoppable beast,” Stewart said. “…You don’t want to mess with moms, you just don’t do that. I think [Diana] feels so embodied and so unconditionally herself when she is with her kids. In all of the research, that I was like, ‘Man, that is what we are protecting here,'” she added. While Stewart admits that she doesn’t know how it feels to be a parent, she does understand that bond to a degree. “I am human,” she explained.
