Kim Petras Defends Her Collaboration With Dr. Luke
Kim Petras’s “Unholy,” a collaboration with Sam Smith, has gone viral on TikTok, bringing the singer new attention in the music industry. The German pop sensation looked to have defended herself after teaming up with the controversial music producer Dr. Luke, but this didn’t sit well with all of her admirers.
This all started over the weekend when the “Coconuts” singer tweeted, “get talented or good at anything then talk to me,” an apparent diss to her critics.
One commenter called her out on it, saying that she has to quit defending Dr. Luke first because of all of his controversy in the music industry.
Petras then restated her previous claims against the divisive song producer, saying, “500000 ppl work with him why y’all only coming at me. I have nothing to say or be ashamed of at all. go away.”
Despite the fact that the pop artist has now removed her comment, several internet users have screenshot it and reposted it.
Many individuals criticised the singer and the other musicians that are associated with the producer after the tweet went viral.
Another user said, “career hasn’t even started and already needs to be cancelled.”
The singer and songwriter Kesha made sexual assault allegations against Dr. Luke in 2014.
Kim Petras, according to early accounts, became famous for self-releasing successful pop songs. She signed with Prescription Songs, an imprint of Lukasz Gottwald, better known as Dr. Luke, in 2016 and promptly relocated to Los Angeles, California to focus on her music career full-time.
Petras appears to have cut relations with the controversial record producer as he was not acknowledged in her most recent production.
The “Can’t Do Better” singer recently credited Wendy Goldstein, co-president of Republic Records, with helping her improve as a songwriter and usher in the current phase of her career, in an interview with i-D Magazine.
Kim Petras has not stated whether or not she would continue to work with Dr. Luke on future projects as of this writing.
