The Los Angeles Kings acquired the restricted free-agent winger from the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday in exchange for the No. 19 pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and Maple Grove, MN, defenseman Brock Faber.
Fiala scored 33 goals and had 52 assists last season. Last season, he earned $5.1 million. Fiala is a native of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Fiala, the 11th overall pick in 2014, was traded to the Wild at the 2019 deadline. 124 goals and 159 helpers in 419 games for Fiala. Fiala has represented Switzerland at four IIHF World Championships and two World Junior Championships.
Faber, 19, was a Kings second-round pick in 2020 and was captain of Minnesota last season. Faber won gold at the 2021 WJHC in Edmonton and Red Deer. He also competed in Beijing 2022.
