Keanu Reeves confirmed for ‘The Devil in the White City’ Hulu series
Everything is set in stone at this point. Streaming provider Hulu has announced that Hollywood icon Keanu Reeves will star in the series version of “The Devil in the White City.”
Television Critics Association Summer Tour presentation, according to entertainment news portal The Hollywood Reporter.
Executive producers on the film will include Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese, two of Hollywood’s biggest names.
Adapted from Erik Larson’s 2003 novel, the show depicts the actual story of two men, an architect and a serial killer, whose lives are intertwined by the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893. This is Reeves’ first major role on American television.
On a fair grouradhikand, Daniel H. Burnham, a smart and fastidious architect, and Henry H. Holmes, a gorgeous and cunning doctor, build their own ‘Murder Castles’ to lure, torture, and mutilate young women. A gilded-age tour of murder, romance, and mystery awaits the viewer in this period drama.
Film rights were purchased by DiCaprio in 2010 and Scorsese was previously attached to direct the big-budget film at Paramount.
The series adaption of the book was announced by Hulu in 2019.
Co-produced by Paramount Television Studios and Disney’s ABC Signature, the series will be directed by Todd Field.
In addition to Scorsese, DiCaprio, and his Appian Way partner, Jennifer Davisson, Rick Yorn, Stacey Sher, Field, and Mark Lafferty will executive produce the film.
