Kanye West Drink Champs Interview Breaks Viewership Records for Revolt
Kanye West’s extremely unedited interview on Revolt TV’s “Drink Champs” program surpassed viewership records for the Black-owned multimedia channel.
West’s two-and-a-half-hour talk with presenters N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN drew 3 million viewers in its first 12 hours, making it the most viewers Revolt TV has ever had for a single episode, according to the business. The interview, which was broadcast on cable and was made available on Revolt’s website and YouTube channel on Thursday evening, rapidly rose to the top of Twitter’s hot topics.
“Revolt’s long-term partnership with ‘Drink Champs’ is a perfect example that we are more powerful together when we use our platforms to control our narrative and give the voices shaping our culture the freedom to create unapologetically,” said Deon Graham, Combs Enterprises’ chief brand officer, in a statement to Variety. “N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN have shown to be leaders in this sector, and they deserve to be recognized now for designing a programme that every big player in hip-hop should attend.” This broadcast is on pace to become the most-watched hip-hop interview ever.”
The usually elusive West touched on a variety of hot topics in the interview, including his divorce from Kim Kardashian, his never-ending battle with Drake, and his decision to include Marilyn Manson and DaBaby on his new album “Donda.”
“All the ‘Me Too’…, when I sit next to Marilyn Manson and DaBaby, right after both of them got canceled, for five songs, it’s like they can’t cancel a song,” “They’ll accuse you of something or someone you were with ten years ago.” There are also women who have been through traumatic experiences and have been dragged into alleys against their choice; this is not the same as a hug, yet it is labeled as such. It’s all about politics and power. You know, control freaks and power-hungry maniacs. This is mind-control in the style of ‘1984,’ and we’re in it.”
Second week at the Revolt Summit x AT&T, the next edition of “Drink Champs” will be televised live.
