Jordan Peterson suspended from Twitter for tweet on Elliot page
Prolific clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson was banned from Twitter when he posted about the operation performed on star Ellen Page, who now goes by the name “Elliot.”
Mikhaila Peterson broke the news to her friends that her dad had been fired.
Peterson responded, “Remember when pride was a sin? And Ellen Page just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician.”
Twitter told Peterson he had broken the platform’s “hateful conduct” guideline, apparently because he used Page’s birth name when the star now goes by “Elliot.” He also referred to Page by her biological sex, using the term “her,” when Page prefers masculine pronouns.
Author and journalist Douglas Murray urged Twitter to supply the “permissible” phrases to reference true material regarding “voluntary, wholly medically unnecessary double mastectomies.”
Both Mikhaila Peterson and Murray named Tesla and SpaceX creator Elon Musk in their tweets concerning Peterson’s suspension, as he is still in discussions to acquire the social media site.
It is worth mentioning Musk — who just exceeded 100 million followers on Twitter and has been quite an active user of the site — has not posted anything to the network since June 21
His unexpected quiet on Twitter, which comes after posting approximately 21 times per day, has revealed as his $44 billion plan to acquire the site has been placed on hold.
