Jonah Hill submits a petition to have his last name changed legally
He first appeared on screen in 2006’s The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and since then, the 38-year-old actor has become a household celebrity.
Starring in films like Superbad and 21 Jump Street after that, he also received two Oscar nods for supporting performances in Moneyball (2011) and The Wolf of Wall Street (2014).
But one thing fans may not be aware of after all these years is Hill’s original surname.
The director has realised that “Jonah Hill” is essentially a stage name and is therefore pursuing legal recognition of the moniker.
According to court documents acquired by TMZ, the Hollywood actor Jonah Hill Feldstein has filed a petition in Los Angeles to remove the surname “Feldstein” from his legal name. This implies that his admirers no longer need to refer to him by his full name.
Super fans may already be aware with Hill’s family surname courtesy to his sister and fellow actor Beanie Feldstein.
The 29-year-old has recently played Monica Lewinsky in Impeachment: American Crime Story after starring in the critically acclaimed comedies Lady Bird (2017) and Booksmart (2019).
It’s not just Hill who’s made their stage name their legal name; Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul recently submitted paperwork to the court to legally become Aaron Paul.
Actor Paul Sturtevant, 43, has filed paperwork to legally alter his last name to Paul.
Since Paul’s wife Lauren plans to adopt his surname, they plan to legally alter it together.
Their seven-month-old boy was born Casper Emerson Paul, but they reportedly want to rename him Ryden Caspian Paul.
According to the paperwork the outlet obtained, Aaron and Lauren claimed they were compelled to name their son at the hospital, but that they ultimately decided on a different name after he was born.
