Warner Brothers Japan unveiled a new promotional video and a release date for the upcoming second instalment of the anime version of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean this past weekend at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California.

The eagerly awaited sequel to the adaption will have its global Netflix debut on September 1, 2022, and will then air on Tokyo MX in Japan on October 7 before going live on additional networks.

The anime adaptation’s first 12 episodes debuted on Netflix in December 2021, with episodes 13–24 making up the second part. The sixth story arc of the enormously well-liked manga JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, which spanned 17 volumes from December 1990 to April 2003, is titled Stone Ocean. The plot centres on Jolyne Cujoh, the estranged daughter of Jotaru Kujo who was framed by her ex-boyfriend to serve a 15-year prison term.

The official synopsis for Stone Ocean states, “Florida, USA, 2011 After a mishap while on a drive with her sweetheart, Jolyne Cujoh slips into a trap and is condemned to fifteen years.” She is transferred to the state-run, maximum-security Green Dolphin Street Prison, also known as “the Aquarium.” She is on the verge of giving up until her father gives her a pendant, igniting a secret power inside of her. The events taking place in this prison are unquestionably one of the things in this world that are more dreadful than death. Jolyne receives a message from a mysterious boy, strange things start to happen one after another, her father tells her the awful truth when he visits, and more.
