Joe Biden Will Ask Americans For 100 Days Of Mask-Wearing On First Day Of Presidency

TSR Politics: President-Elect Joe Biden is getting straight to the point about the pandemic the moment he takes office. He announced today that on his inauguration day this upcoming January, he will be asking the American public for 100 days of mask-wearing.

“…Not forever, just 100 days. And I think we’ll see a significant reduction” in the virus, Biden said during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper.

We don’t have to tell y’all that this is a complete shift in leadership from what Trump was doing. Biden has frequently emphasized the importance of mask-wearing as a “patriotic duty” and has been behind instituting a nationwide mask mandate, as opposed to leaving it up to state and local governments.

Biden also announced today that he asked Dr. Anthony Fauci to stay on his administration,”in the exact same role he’s had for the past several presidents,” as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the nation’s top infectious-disease expert, according to ABC News.

Biden said he’s asked Fauci to be a “chief medical adviser” as well as part of his COVID-19 advisory team.

In regard to a coronavirus vaccine, Biden said he’d be “happy” to get inoculated in public to assuage any concerns about its efficacy and safety for the public. Earlier today we reported that three former presidents – Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton – have said they’d also get vaccinated publicly to show that it’s safe.

“People have lost faith in the ability of the vaccine to work,” Biden said, adding that “it matters what a president and the vice president do.”

Biden’s inauguration day is Jan. 20th, 2021, which is gearing up to be a monumental day of sorts, especially considering Kamala Harris will be the first Black and Indian-American woman in the White House as well as the first woman to hold the role as Vice President (shout out to the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha!)
