Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are Officially Married Now
After two distinct relationships and innumerable tabloid cover stories, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finally tied the knot late Saturday night in a drive-through chapel in Las Vegas.
On Sunday, Lopez married him and told her admirers in a newsletter titled “We did it.” In April, Lopez announced their engagement in the same “On the J Lo.” newsletter.
“Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” Lopez stated in a letter signed by Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
Lopez stated that the couple went to Las Vegas on a Saturday, waited in line with four other couples to get their licence, and then were married in the Little White Chapel, which features a drive-through “tunnel of love.” shortly after midnight. Lopez stated that as they walked down the aisle, music was piped in through a Bluetooth speaker. This, she said, was the most memorable night of their lives.
“Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at 12:30 in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with,” Lopez added.
A marriage licence application for the couple was filed with and processed by the Clark County clerk’s office in Nevada on Saturday, sparking initial reports of the wedding on Sunday. Lopez has filed for a marriage licence under the name Jennifer Affleck.
Lopez and Affleck’s representatives both passed on the opportunity to speak.
Affleck, 49, and Lopez, 52, who had dated in the early 2000s and given rise to the nickname “Bennifer,” recently got back together. They co-starred in the films Gigli (2003) and Jersey Girl (2004). They were engaged around that time but ultimately did not tie the knot.
The actor married Jennifer Garner in 2005, and the couple now has three children together. In 2018, they decided to separate.
Including her current marriage, Lopez has been married three times. From 1997 to 1998, she was married to Ojani Noa, and from 2001 to 2003, she was married to Cris Judd. She is the mother of twins who are now 14 years old; she and singer Marc Anthony were married for a decade after getting hitched in 2004.
