Jaylon Ferguson Ravens LB dies at age of 26
Outside linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, Jaylon Ferguson, passed away at the age of 26.
The club broke the news of Ferguson’s passing on Wednesday morning.
“We are profoundly saddened by the tragic passing of Jaylon Ferguson,” the Ravens informed. “He was a kind, respectful young man with a big smile and infectious personality. We express our heartfelt condolences to Jaylon’s family and friends as we mourn a life lost much too soon.”
Ferguson, a defensive end from Louisiana Tech, was picked by the Ravens in the third round in 2019. He holds the NCAA record with 45 career sacks. While at Louisiana Tech, Ferguson gained the nickname “Sack Daddy,” and he and his girlfriend, Doni, went on to have two children.
Safarrah Lawson, Ferguson’s agent, said on NFL Network that her client’s family would like privacy while they mourn.
Ferguson played in 38 games (10 starts) for the Ravens and recorded 4.5 sacks and 67 total tackles during his career.
