Jaden Smith walks out of Kanye’s Yeezy fashion show over his ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt
Jaden Smith is currently in France for Paris Fashion Week, where he saw the 9th annual Yeezy Show. But after seeing Kanye wear a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt, he chose to leave, saying, “I don’t care who’s it is, if I don’t feel the message I’m out”.
The decision by Kanye West to wear a White Lives Matter shirt (a typical rebuttal to the Black Lives Matter slogan, employed by right-wing militias) has been widely criticized. This is not the first time he has caused controversy in the black community; in 2018, he said, “(400 years of) slavery was a choice” which outraged many.

Rapper-turned-fashion-designer Kanye West gave a speech to the crowd before his runway show, saying: “I am Ye, and everyone here knows that I am the leader. You can’t manage me.”
That looks to be a response from Jaden Smith, who tweeted “True leaders lead.”
Will Smith’s kid said, “I had to dip, Lol” when asked about why he had to leave YZY SZN9. The actor and rapper is well-known for his activism in the civil rights movement; he participated in multiple Black Lives Matter protests in 2020. A picture of him, his sister Willow, and their mother Jada Pinkett-Smith during a rally reads, “Justice For Breonna Taylor” on his pinned tweet.
A blatant rebuttal to Kanye West’s statement, “Black Lives Matter” was Jaden Smith’s final tweet in his string. Some internet users were glad that Will Smith’s kid decided to skip the presentation because of the racist phrase the models were wearing.
