How to use join codes
Now, get your ID or that of the person’s fireteam you wish to join. These codes allow cross-platform gaming without username crossovers. Your typical player name will be followed by digits.
- Find your friend’s Bungie ID on your roster. Their name was followed by numbers. Copy this name down.
- Enter their player ID to enter the chat box.
- Type /join and space.
- Enter their player ID to join.
- Enter.
- Type /invite, a space, and their player ID to invite them to your fireteam.

Things to note
If the player you invite is not on your friend list, check that their fireteam settings are public. Be welcoming. Hovering over your clan name in the options menu will reveal your ID. From there, anyone may send it. Destiny 2 join codes may fail if cross-play is disabled. Return cross-play to your console settings. Only Xbox and Playstation may disable it.
