What is Destiny 2’s Expunge mission?
Expunge is the Season of the Splicer’s weekly mission, and many players are expecting it to be similar to last season’s Presage pinnacle missions. While Expunge is something you’ll want to do every week, it’s not the same as what players had to deal with last season.
Discovering secrets and puzzles, and dealing with enemies will all be required, just as they are in other weekly assignments. There are also many variations of the missions, so as the season moves ahead, you’ll be tackling different areas, objectives, and enemies.
How to unlock Destiny 2 Expunge mission
Before you start playing Expunge, you’ll need to make sure it’s unlocked, which requires you to be completely caught up on Mithrax’s Path of the Splicer quests.
If you’ve been following through with each new quest step as it’s been unlocked you should already have the first Expunge assignment, Labyrinth. If not, you’ll have to complete those quests before moving on to the Path of the Splicer III step.
Mithrax will send you to the Tangled Shore to complete the Override encounter once you start Path of the Splicer III.
Before starting the assignment, make sure you have some Key Codes on hand, as you’ll need at least one to unlock a unique chest towards the end.
A Conflux Chest will be located near the usual, post-boss loot cont after you’ve completed the Override task.
To get the ‘Message received’ quest step, interact with the Conflux Chest, then talk to Mithrax again to unlock Expunge.
