How To Transfer A File Between iPhone And Mac

The transfer of files between an iPhone and a Mac is the main topic of this guide. There is no need for USB cords if you have an iPhone USB Flash Drive and want to move files from your Mac to your iPhone or iPad. If your Mac is running the most recent version of macOS, you can sync data directly between your Mac and your iPhone using either USB connections or the same Wi-Fi connection.

You can also just use a USB cord to copy files from your iPhone’s apps that are supported by iTunes to the Mac. You can quickly transfer files between your iPhone and your Mac using iTunes if you have a USB-to-Lightning connector. Connect your iPhone to a Mac (with a USB port and OS X 10.9 or later) or Windows PC to transfer files for apps that enable file sharing (with a USB port and Windows 7 or later). Additionally, you can transfer video files from the iPhone to the Mac or vice versa via iTunes, although this approach is slightly constrained because it can only transfer files that are compatible with AirDroid Personal.

Using iCloud Drive is another simple method for moving data from an iPhone to a Mac. Moving files If you have synchronized all of your data, you may use the Files app on the iPhone and the iCloud Drive app on the Mac to access the same files on both devices. Once finished, you should be able to use iCloud to access any iPhone files that are saved in Files.

Other ways to copy files from your Mac computer to an iPhone include: selecting a folder and a file from the Finder; copying the file to your Clipboard; returning to the copy helper; and selecting Paste from the right-click option to complete the transfer. Whatever the case, simply choose the desired folders and files from File View or App View, click the Copy To Folders button, or select Copy To Folders from the right-click menu, designate a location on the Mac computer, then confirm the transfer to complete the transfer. To transfer a file from a Mac to an iPhone, simply drag and drop it onto the name of an app in the list from the Finder window.

Not all file types that your iOS device can use can be transferred (but see below for ways to transfer audio and video files). The speed of the transfer will depend on the number of USB-type ports you have, although this option is excellent for sending huge files. Pick Copy files from USB when your transfer options appear. Depending on how many and how large the files are, syncing your iPhone or iPad will take some time in either scenario.
