How to Get to Sumeru Desert in Genshin Impact 3.1 Update
The Genshin Impact 3.1 update is now out, which means that players can at long last venture into the Sumeru Desert. Although the forest-sand hybrid zone was made available to players in August as part of version 3.0, the desert section remained inaccessible up until this point. The following is a walkthrough for reaching the Sumeru Desert in Genshin Impact.
Unlocking the Sumeru Desert in Genshin Impact 3.1
Those who have already traveled to Sumeru are permitted to enter the desert area; hence, those who have already gained access to the territory only need to locate it. In the event that you have not yet ventured into Sumeru, there are a few tasks that you will need to complete before continuing. We have already discussed how to go to the new region in our guide titled “How to Get to Sumeru in Genshin Impact,” but here is a summary for those who don’t have the time to read it all:
Complete the “Chapter II: Act IV—Requiem of the Echoing Depths” Archon Quest
- Be at least Adventure Rank 35.
- Go through the tunnel at Cinnabar Cliffs in The Chasm, Liyue.

When you get to Sumeru, the first thing you’ll need to do is find your way to the Caravan Ribat, which is located in the western part of the province. It is located just west of Apam Woods and to the north-northwest of the Ruins of Dahri. If you have been to this location before, the Teleport Waypoint will likely already be enabled for you, allowing you to simply warp to it for the utmost convenience. After arriving at Caravan Ribat, take the trail that leads west and you will find yourself in the middle of the desert. Follow the path to the southwest until you reach Aaru Village, where you will find a Statue of the Seven that will allow you to access that section of the map. Congratulations, you are now free to explore the new desert area and can return to it at any time using the warp portal.
