How to get Microsoft’s student discount
Microsoft is one of the largest technology businesses in the world, so its goods and services are not inexpensive. If you’re a student on a tight budget, you might have to look at alternatives that are less expensive. Microsoft has acknowledged that, though. The student discounts offered by Microsoft are advantageous to parents, teachers, and students alike. These are applicable to both hardware and software, and there are numerous annual reductions. Here is all the information you require.
Who is eligible for the discount and how much is it?
The student discount, which offers up to 10% off on selected products, is available to students in grades K through 12 (ages 5 to 18), as well as to higher education students, staff, and parents. According to Microsoft’s conditions, only full-time and part-time students, teachers, and parents making purchases on behalf of students and school workers are eligible for the education discount. You’ll need to use your Microsoft account to confirm your identity (more on this below). The discount will be automatically applied to any eligible items you add to your cart after you’ve validated.
However, you cannot combine the student discount with any other promotions. Microsoft adds that you won’t be eligible for an additional student discount if the product currently has a discount that is greater than 10%. All members of the armed forces—active, inactive, or retired—as well as their families, are also eligible.
How does Microsoft verify student eligibility?
You must present your student ID card at the Microsoft Store in order to prove that you are a current student. You must check your eligibility online using the US and UK-specific Microsoft sites. You’ll be asked to log in to your Microsoft account or, if you don’t have one currently, to establish one. Microsoft doesn’t confirm your position as a student upfront; however, you can be asked for documentation later. You would be required to pay the entire cost of the gadget if you were unable to verify your status at that time. Through UniDays, you may also take advantage of the 10% discount and other promotions.
Microsoft Surface devices are discounted by up to 10%.
Microsoft offers discounts to students on a variety of its products, with a special focus on its Surface tablets, which are up to 10% off. Deals available right now, even without this additional discount, include:
- Up to $300/£200 off Surface Pro 8
