House of the Dragon Episode 2: Release date, Time, and How to watch online
The second episode of House of the Dragon reveals the next steps in the battle for the Iron Throne. Game of Thrones: The Prequel has been HBO Max’s latest and probably greatest hit after a spectacular launch, during which over 20 million viewers watched episode 1 (leading to the renewal of season 2). Is it possible for those statistics to hold up this week? Yes, that’s the bulk of the overarching plot, but what about The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power? We’re thinking about it.
House of the Dragon season 2 episode 2 should pick up with little Rhaenyra Targaryen (Milly Alcock) being named the successor to the Iron Throne by her father, King Viserys (Paddy Considine). Obviously, she is shattering the gender norm by assuming a position no woman in Westeros has ever held. Her main adversary is currently Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), whose goals are well-known. Though he is Viserys’ sibling, that did not help him get the job done. Because of this, we have no doubt that he will become an even more emotional kook in the future.
An interesting political subplot involves the hand of the king, Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans), who sends his daughter, Alicent (Olivia Cooke), to the king’s apartments to comfort him in his time of mourning. We anticipate that Otto will resort to every measure necessary to preserve his power base. House of the Dragon has received 88% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and audiences alike.
