Honkai: Star Rail – How to Ascend Characters
In order to advance to new levels in Honkai: Star Rail, your character must first reach the maximum level for that level. Once you reach level 20, the game will prompt you to spend some in-game currency to raise the level cap. You can reach level 80 after completing the sixth and final ascension stage.
In order to level up a character, you must first meet a number of criteria:
Gather resources for your ascent.
Get the Credits you need.
To the level of either Trailblazer or Equilibrium.
Assume, for the sake of argument, that you wish to raise Dan Heng to level 30. Ascension requires 20 Extinguished Core and 3,200 Credits; however, you must be at least Level 15 Trailblazer to attempt it.
As much of a pain as it may be, you should always prioritize moving up in units. Besides raising the maximum level cap, it will also grant your characters some stat boosts, such as ATK, HP, and DEF.
Defeating foes, finishing quests, and venturing into the Simulated Universe are all simple ways to obtain low-rarety ascension materials. In order to collect rare ascension materials, you will have to venture into the Stagnant Shadows and face off against hordes of powerful foes. The Stagnant Shadows, like other features, won’t become available until you hit specific thresholds, in this case Trailblazer level 30 and Equilibrium level 3.
It can cost a lot of Credits to level up your characters. In that case, you should work on the Bud of Treasures task from the Golden Calyx. In contrast to the Bud of Memories, which only provides you with ingredients to help you level up, the Bud of Treasures actually gives you quite a few Credits.
