If you’ve played Genshin Impact and enjoyed the cooperative boss-fighting experience it offers, you may be wondering if Honkai: Star Rail offers a similar mode. Honkai: Star Rail – How to Add Friends
Until you sign up for the Astral Express and finish the “Voyage Continues” task, you won’t have access to the Friends function. Once you’ve completed the necessary steps, the Friends option will become available on your phone.
To add friends, just enter their UID like you would in Genshin Impact. A player’s UID is either shown in the bottom left of the screen or can be accessed from their profile in the game’s main menu.

Befriend a Stranger allows you to contact random players in the game and request to be their friend. After they accept, your list of friends will automatically expand to include them.
It’s possible you’ve already seen player portraits next to their profiles. The highlighted unit is a friend’s Support Character; in order to defeat bosses, you can temporarily add this character to your squad.
You and your pals can’t do anything together besides use their Support Unit, unlike in Genshin. This feature may inspire some of you to strike up conversations with strangers who have uncommonly strong personalities, like Bronya and Welt, which is a shame but could be interesting.
