Heavy rains cause flash floods in sections of Texoma
Texoma has been hit by floods following Sunday’s downpour.
Viewer reported seeing floods on a Choctaw bridge that had been obstructed by debris.
The National Weather Service believes that the 1.64-inch accumulation reported by Sherman Airports during the previous 24 hours is inaccurate.
According to meteorologist Brian Briggs, had an inch and a half of rain, which is in line with most reports, although individual town totals varied greatly.
Police in Sherman said they were swamped with calls on Sunday asking about traffic conditions and delays, and they urged residents not to use 911 unless they were in immediate danger.
People were warned by police not to attempt to drive through the water during heavy rains.
