Gran Turismo: Synopsis
The film will purportedly follow a teen Gran Turismo player who competes in tournaments all around the world on their way to becoming a real racing car driver. It’s an unusual idea, but it’s likely one of the few realistic options for adapting the series.
Gran Turismo 7 is the latest game in the brand, launching on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in March of this year. The game got great marks from critics and wowed fans with its attention to detail and diverse gameplay possibilities. It was chastised for the lengthy process required to obtain its vehicles, but Polyphony Digital has gradually addressed these complaints.

Sony’s gaming franchises are making inroads in Hollywood as part of a reinvigorated push for video game adaptations on television and the big screen. Uncharted was released in theatres earlier this year and grossed over $400 million at the box office, despite mixed reviews.
