Google Pixel Fold size, display, and camera specs are revealed by a leak
According to a recent leak, Google is developing a foldable phone that will be available to consumers in the not-too-distant future. The folks over at 91mobiles, who are accurate with their predictions most of the time, have managed to acquire access to various specifications for the foldable, including information regarding the size and shape of the gadget, as well as certain display and camera specifics. This opens in a new tab.
According to the latest rumors, the display panels are going to come with a resolution of 2208 pixels wide by 1840 pixels tall, and they are going to be ordered from Samsung. The screen is touted to have a maximum brightness of 1,200 nits, an average brightness of 800 nits, and a refresh rate that can reach as high as 120 Hz. In the meantime, it has been stated that the unfolded device has a total dimension of 123 millimeters by 148 millimeters.
Moving on to photography, the Pixel Fold is rumored to have a back camera that is equipped with a Sony IMX787 primary camera with a resolution of 64 megapixels, an IMX386 ultra-wide camera with a resolution of 12.2 megapixels, and an S5K3J1 telephoto camera with a resolution of 10 megapixels. According to reports, the camera on the inner display utilizes a Sony IMX355 sensor with 8 megapixels, while the camera on the outer display uses an S5K3J1 sensor with 10 megapixels. Some of those sensor specifications have been discussed in the past, but, as we approach the launch of the Pixel Fold, the facts are starting to come together from a variety of sources, which, of course, makes it more probable that they are truly accurate.
Concerning the release, it is widely anticipated that the foldable smartphone will be introduced at some point during the year 2023. (after originally being rumored for 2012). As always, the pricing will be extremely important, and it is anticipated that it will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,400 (about £1,255 or AU$2,260). At this moment, Google has been working on a foldable phone for a significant amount of time (even though we are not in the realm of Apple Cars in terms of durability). It would appear that a launch is drawing ever closer, given the increasing frequency of the leaks that we are currently hearing.
Foldable smartphones aren’t exactly on the cusp of mass adoption just yet, but that’s beginning to change. As prices continue to drop and technology grows more affordable, this trend can only go in one direction since it’s the only one that makes sense. It seems like the appropriate time for Google to get involved and offer something of high quality to followers of the Pixel line of smartphones. Meanwhile, Apple is working on its own foldable iPhone and is waiting in the wings. It would appear that Apple is content to take its time when it comes to releasing a folding smartphone. Perhaps the company is waiting for the technology to become even more affordable and even more reliable.
